JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues picked up a sweep over the Fontbonne University Griffins on Tuesday night 25-17, 25-23, 25-21. This improves the team to 9-15 overall.
IC relied on a strong performance from
Macie Beer. Beer led the team with eight kills in the match. She was followed by
Maya Stovall and
Paige Knuffman with seven kills each.
Morgan Burr and
Summer Brandis were able to set their teammates up for success with 18 and 17 assists on the night.Â
Jen Humbolt led the team defensively with 24 digs.
Riley Brandenburg was a standout leading the team with three blocks in the match.
IC ended the first set on a five-point scoring run. An attack error by the Griffins would give IC the win in set one. After winning a close second set, IC found themselves tied with the Griffins 19-19 in set number three. The team would finish the match on a kill by
Summer Brandis to complete the sweep.Â
The Lady Blues will return to MWC play on the road Friday, 10/21 against Lake Forest College at 7:00 PM. Â
