LAKE FOREST, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys traveled to face Lake Forest on Saturday. The team came away with a win over the Foresters with a final of 83-60. This advances the Blueboys to 6-7 overall and 2-3 in the MWC.
IC was led in scoring by
Jake Mazrimas totaling 27 points shooting 3-4 from beyond the arc. Mazrimas was able to record a double-double leading the team with 11 rebounds in the contest. He was followed by
Buzz Ritzel (16),
Hunter Ottensmeier (12), and
Benton Singleton (11) who also reached double figures in scoring.
After being down early, the Blueboys were able to battle back and take their first lead of the game after a made three-pointer by Ritzel to make the score 25-24. The Blueboys were able to end the half on a hot streak to take a comfortable lead 47-29 heading into halftime.The lead proved to be too much as the Blueboys were able to hang on for the victory.
The Blueboys will travel to take on Beloit College on Saturday, 1/22 at 3:00 PM.
