GREENVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys soccer team traveled to take on the Greenville University Panthers on Tuesday night. The team suffered a loss after a hard fought match with a final of 1-2. This puts the Blueboys at 1-2 overall this season.
Greenville would get on the board first with a goal in the first two minutes to take the lead over the Blueboys 1-0. IC would answer back rather quickly after an assists by
Thomas Menke and
Jacob Milnes set up
Tyler Schiltz for the equalizer in the sixth minute. The Panthers would retake the lead in the final minute of the first half to jump ahead 2-1 heading into halftime. This would prove to be the final score as both teams were held scoreless in the second half.Â
Schiltz led the team with four shots in the contest followed by
Caleb Steber with two shots.
Chase McNeill started the game in goal earning one save while
Owen Macias took over in the second half recording four saves.Â
The Blueboys will travel to face Blackburn College on Friday, 9/10 at 4:00 PM.Â
