CARLINVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys traveled to face the Blackburn College Beavers on Friday night. The Blueboys were able to come away with a last second goal to claim the win and advance to 2-2 overall this season.
Blackburn got on the board first in the 9th minute to take the lead over IC 1-0. This would be the score as both teams headed to the benches for halftime.
Illinois College would even the score in the 69th minute with a goal by
Tyler Schiltz after an assist by
Tiernan Freiberger. Illinois College was able to out-shoot the Beavers 19 to 5 in the second half. The Blueboys connected on another goal in the final ten seconds of regulation after an assist from
Paul Adams was able to set up
Thomas Menke for the game winner.
Caleb Fink represented the Blueboys in goal recording four saves in the contest.
The Blueboys will travel to face Simpson College on Wednesday, 9/15 at 4:30 PM.
