GRINNELL, Iowa- The Illinois College Blueboys traveled to face Grinnell College in their Midwest Conference opener. The team suffered a loss to the Pioneers with a final of 1-2 after overtime. This drops the Blueboys to 5-3 overall and 0-1 in the MWC.
IC would get on the board first with goal by
Thomas Menke in the 34th minute. The Blueboys would maintain their lead heading into halftime 1-0.
Grinnell was able to connect with the net in the 57th minute to tie the game and force overtime. The Pioneers would earn the win three minutes into the overtime period with a goal by Jasper Yang.
Owen Macias represented IC in the goal finishing the game with five saves.
The Blueboys will host Finlandia University on Tuesday, 9/28 at 7:00 PM.
