JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College men's soccer team defeated the Buena Vista University Beavers with a final of 5-0. This advances the Blueboys to 4-2 overall this season.
Thomas Menke led the way with three goals for IC.
Tyler Schiltz and
Toby Ybarra were able to record one goal each to help the Blueboys secure the win.
Owen Macias and
Miles Atkins split time in the goal for the team.
IC got off to a hot start with a goal by Ybarra in the second minute to take an early lead. Menke connected with the net for his first goal of the day in the 16th minute to give the Blueboys a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
The second half proved to go in the Blueboys favor. Schiltz would get to the net in the 50th minute to give IC a demanding 3-0 lead. Menke finished the game off with two more goals to compete his first hat trick of his career.
The team will host Millikin University on Wednesday, 9/22 at 7:00 PM.
