JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys men's soccer team found themselves in a battle against the Greenville University Panthers on Tuesday night. The match was forced to two overtime periods and ended in a tie 2-2.
The Panthers would strike first with a goal in the 13th minute to take the 1-0 lead over the Blueboys. They would extend their lead right before the half to make the score 2-0 going into halftime.
The Blueboys came out of the locker room ready to get back into the game.
Spencer Bloome would put IC on the board after an assist by
Jacob Milnes in the 53rd minute. The Blueboys would earn the equalizer on a deep shot from mid field that snuck past the keeper by
Tyler Schiltz. This goal would force the game into overtime.
After two overtime periods the teams stood tied 2-2 to end the contest. The Blueboys will look ahead to host the Principia College Panthers on Thursday, 3/4 at 7:00 PM.
