EUREKA, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues dropped to 3-3 overall after a loss to the Eureka College Red Devils on the road with a final score of 83-70.
The Lady Blues were led in scoring by
Maya Smith with 16 points in the contest. Other double figure scorers included
Lakeida Nichols with 13 and
Lilly Pepper with 11. Pepper was also able to lead the team on the boards totaling nine rebounds.
Illinois College fell to an early deficit being outscored by Eureka 25-8 in the first quarter. The team was able to rally back in the second quarter after a made jump shot in the final seconds by Nichols tied the game at 33-33 going into halftime.
Eureka would build their lead up once more in the third quarter to stand ahead 61-43 heading into the final period. The deficit proved to be too much to overcome as the Red Devils were able to come away with the win.
IC will look ahead to take on Eureka at home this Saturday, 2/27 at 1:00 PM. The Lady Blues will honor their seniors before the game.
