JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues fell in a hard fought contest against the Westminster Blue Jays Tuesday night with a final score of 85-76.
IC was led by
Krista Bass totaling 20 points and six steals on the night. Other double figure scorers included
Junie Zirkelbach with 14,
Megan Price with 11, and
Ashlyn Wightman with 10.Â
The Lady Blues were able to get off to a good start outscoring the Blue Jays 22-20 at the end of the first quarter. The game would remain close with both teams trading the lead. Westminster would stand ahead 40-39 at the end of the first half.Â
The game remained close in the third and was tied 59-59 after a made jump shot by Wightman with 9:40 left in the fourth quarter. Westminster would put together a string of shots to go on an 11-0 run over the Lady Blues. Westminster would maintain their lead for the remainder of the game to secure the win.Â
Illinois College looks ahead to a rematch with the Blue Jays on the road this Thursday, 2/18 at 7:30 PM.Â
