MONMOUTH, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues traveled to face Monmouth College on Wednesday night. The team suffered a loss to the Fighting Scots with a final of 64-72. This drops the Lady Blues to 2-6 overall and 1-2 in the MWC.
IC was led by
Krista Bass with 16 points.
Kendra Bass (15) and
Ashlyn Wightman (14) also reached double figures in scoring on the night.
Junie Zirkelbach led the team on the boards with 10 rebounds.
The Lady Blues took the lead after a made layup by Wightman to make the score at 28-27 at the end of the first half. The game continued to go back and forth with multiple lead changes until
Anna McKee hit a three-pointer to give IC the lead 55-52 at the end of the third quarter.
The Scots would open up the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run to build a substantial lead over IC. This would be enough to earn them the win over the Lady Blues.
IC will host Lawrence University on Saturday, 12/11 at 3:00 PM.
