JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys hosted Lawrence University in Saturday MWC action. The team suffered a loss to the Vikings with a final score of 69-80. This drops the Blueboys to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the MWC.
The team was led by
Tre Rogers offensively with 17 points in the contest. Other double figure scorers included
Jake Mazrimas (12) and
Justin Kellogg (10).
Jahkeis Tippett led the Blueboys on the boards recording 9 rebounds.
The score remained close for most of the first half. IC finished the half with an 8-4 run to stand ahead of the Vikings 37-32 heading into halftime. IC saw their lead diminish as the Vikings began to heat up from beyond the arc. A made three-pointer by Adnan Sarancic put the Vikings up 64-52 with 6:38 left in the game. Lawrence would hold onto their lead for the remainder of the contest to walk away with the win.
IC will travel to face Transylvania University on Tuesday, 12/21 at 5:00 PM.
