Lady Blues Fall Against Grinnell In Close MWC Semifinal Match

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa- The Illinois College Lady Blues volleyball team suffered a loss to the Grinnell College Pioneers in the semifinal match of the Midwest Conference Tournament. This wraps up the season for IC with a record of 11-15 overall and 6-2 in the MWC. 

Brenna Dameris led the team with 13 kills in the match. She was followed by Sam Sabo with nine kills. Morgan Burr had an impressive performance totaling 38 assists. The team was led defensively by Jen Humbolt with 19 digs and Sabo with eight block assists. 

The Lady Blues bounced back after falling in the first set 16-25 to win the third and fourth set 25-20, 25-20. The Pioneers went on to win the final two sets to claim the win and advance to the MWC Championship tomorrow against the winner of the Cornell vs. Monmouth semifinal match.
