DECATUR, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues opened their season on the road in the Millikin University Tournament taking on Greenville University on Friday. The team came away with a win over the Panthers with a final of 67-65.
IC was led by
Krista Bass with 19 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
Lilly Pepper and
Kendra Bass also reach double figures in scoring for the Lady Blues with 17 points and 12 points. Pepper and
Ashlyn Wightman led the team in rebounding with seven each.Â
The Lady Blues were able to take a strong lead after the first half 35-28. IC stood ahead of the Panthers 62-59 with six minutes left in the fourth quarter. A made layup in the final minute by
Krista Bass would put the Lady Blues ahead 67-61. IC was able hold off the comeback by the Panthers and secure the win.Â
The Lady Blues will continue the Millikin University Tournament facing Westminster College tomorrow at 2:00 PM.Â
