DECATUR, Ill.- The Lady Blues basketball team continued the Millikin University Tournament taking on Westminster College on Saturday. The team suffered a loss to the Blue Jays with a final score of 70-75. This drops the Lady Blues to 1-1 overall this season.
IC was led by
Kendra Bass exploding offensively with 27 points. She was followed by
Junie Zirkelbach who recorded 15 points in the contest.
Lilly Pepper led the team on the boards recording 15 rebounds.Â
The game would prove to be a competitive one with both teams trading the lead early in the first quarter. Westminster would then start to build their momentum jumping to a 10 point lead over the Lady Blues with 1:41 left in the first half. The Lady Blues would trail the Blue Jays 31-39 as the game headed to halftime.Â
IC struggled to retake the lead in the second half and would ultimately suffer the loss to Westminster.Â
The team will look to bounce back in their home opener against Webster University on Tuesday, 11/16 at 6:00 PM.Â
