MOUNT VERNON, Iowa- The Illinois College Blueboys hit the road to take on Cornell College in their Midwest Conference opener Tuesday. The Blueboys suffered a loss to the Rams with a final of 75-82. This drops the team to 4-4 overall this season.
The Blueboys were led by
Tre Rogers with 19 points in the contest.
Hunter Ottensmeier followed him with 17 points and led the team in rebounding with eight.
Justin Kellogg was also able to reach double figures with 12 points.
Cornell got ahead of the Blueboys early. The Rams held the lead at the end of the first half 26-37. IC battled back to cut the lead to just five points after a made three-pointer by
Henry Hayer in the final seconds. The Rams would seal the win with a couple of made free throws down the stretch.
IC will continue conference play traveling to take on Ripon College on Saturday, 12/4 at 1:00 PM.
