JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues hosted Millikin University on Sunday. The team suffered a loss to the Big Blue with a final of 65-74. This drops the Lady Blues to 1-4 overall this season.
IC was led by
Kendra Bass totaling 20 points in the contest. She was followed by
Lilly Pepper who totaled 18 points and led the team with nine rebounds.
Junie Zirkelbach was also able to reach double figures in scoring finishing the game with 14 points and eight rebounds.
The Lady Blues played competitive trading the lead back and forth with the Big Blue. IC would stand ahead 28-26 as the game headed to halftime.
Both teams were tied in the final quarter 53-53 with 7:39 remaining in regulation. Millikin put together a 9-2 run to build a commanding lead over the Lady Blues with the score at 55-62 and only 3:53 left in the contest. Millikin was able to maintain their lead down the stretch to come away with the victory.
IC will begin Midwest Conference play as they travel to take on Cornell College on Tuesday, 11/30 at 7:30 PM.
