DECATUR, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys traveled to take on Millikin University on Saturday. The team came away with a victory over the Big Blue with a final of 71-58. This advances the Blueboys to 4-2 overall this season.
IC was led by
Hunter Ottensmeier with 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists. He was followed by
Tre Rogers who ended the game with 17 points and also recorded four assists.
Benton Singleton led the team on the boards with 12 rebounds in the contest.
IC battled a tough Millikin team trailing at the halftime break 28-32. The team was able to tie the game at 42-42 in the second half on a made three-pointer by
Troy Burrows with 10:59 left in regulation. The Blueboys were able to take advantage of the momentum to build a substantial lead late in the game.
Illinois College stood ahead 66-56 after a made layup by
Justin Kellogg with 1:19 left in the contest. The Blueboys were able to maintain their lead and walk away with the win over Millikin.
The Blueboys will look ahead traveling to face Augustana on Tuesday, 11/23 at 7:00 PM.
