JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys hosted Knox College in their final home match of the 2021 season on Wednesday night. IC would suffer a loss to the Prairie Fire with a final of 1-2. This drops the Blueboys to 9-7-1 overall and 2-5 in the MWC.
The Blueboys were able to get the match started on a goal by
Tiernan Freiberger after an assist by
Dillon Arens in the sixth minute. IC took all the momentum in the first half, playing great defense to hold the Prairie Fire scoreless heading into halftime.
Knox came out of the second half looking to get back in the match. The Prairie Fire were able to find the net to tie the score in the 63rd minute. Knox was then able to take the lead after a goal in the 67th minute by Pedro Moura. This would be the final as Knox walked away with the win.
Owen Macias had a spectacular night in the goal for the Blueboys earning nine saves in the contest.
IC will wrap up their 2021 season on the road as they face Ripon College on Saturday, 10/30 at 1:30 PM.
