JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys picked up a win over the Monmouth College Fighting Scots with a final score of 4-0. The team took the time before the match to honor their two seniors
Oswald Hountondji and
Bryce Etling. This win improves the Blueboys to 9-6-1 overall and 2-4-0 in the MWC.
Tyler Schiltz was able to get on the board first after an impressive pass from
Toby Ybarra to give IC the lead in the seventh minute.
Thomas Menke would connect with the net in the 22nd minute on an assist by Ybarra to increase the Blueboys lead. Schiltz would earn his second goal of the day in the 30th minute on an assist from
Aaron House and
Thomas Menke to give IC the commanding 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
The team would add one more goal by
Dillon Arens in the 69th minute to seal the win and defeat the Fighting Scots.
Owen Macias led the team with five saves in the goal for the Blueboys.
IC will host Knox College next Wednesday, 10/27 at 8:00 PM.
