JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Lady Blues tennis team earned a big conference win over the Monmouth College Fighting Scots with a final of 6-3. This improves the team to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the MWC.
The team was able to jump to an early lead after picking up two wins in doubles competition. The #1 doubles team of
Sophia Roth and
Hannah Lueke were able to earn a victory 8-4. The #3 doubles team of
Lydia Criveau and
Ashley Brokaw were also able to come away with a win 8-1.
The Lady Blues would seal the victory in the match after earning wins in four singles matches. Roth picked up a win in #1 singles 6-2, 6-1. Other singles winners included
Shya Prescott in #4 singles 6-0, 6-1; Criveau in #5 singles 6-0, 6-0; and
Ashley Brokaw in #6 singles 6-0, 6-0.
IC will host Cornell College on Saturday, 10/9 at 9:00 AM.
