JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is set to participate in this years MWC Annual Canned Food Challenge. The student-athletes from IC will compete against other schools in the conference to collect canned goods over the course of the school year at different athletic events.
IC will begin their collection process on October 20th. The SAAC team here at IC will hold collection bins at multiple athletic events leading up to the end of the competition on November 16th. A list of all athletic events in this time frame are listed below.
Canned Food Challenge Event Dates:
- Wednesday, Oct. 20 - Men's Soccer vs. Monmouth College at 7:00 PM
- Friday, Oct. 22 - Women's Volleyball vs. Lake Forest College at 7:00 PM
- Saturday, Oct. 23 - Women's Volleyball vs. Lawrence at 12:00 PM /Football vs. Knox at 2:00 PM
- Sunday, Oct. 24 - Women's Soccer vs. Cornell at 2:00 PM
- Monday, Oct. 25 - Women's Volleyball vs. Greenville University at 7:00 PM
- Tuesday, Oct. 26 - Women's Soccer vs. Knox College at 7:30 PM
- Wednesday, Oct. 27 - Men's Soccer vs. Knox College at 8:00 PM
- Saturday, Oct. 30 - Men's and Women's Swimming IC Invite at 1:00 PM
- Sunday, Oct. 31 - Women's Basketball vs. Eureka at 1:00 PM
- Saturday, Nov. 6 - Football vs. Grinnell at 1:00 PM
- Tuesday, Nov. 9 - Men's Basketball vs. Webster University 7:30 PM
- Friday, Nov. 5 - Men's Basketball Bill Merris Tournament 7:30 PM
- Saturday, Nov. 6 - Men's Basketball Bill Merris Tournament TBA
- Tuesday, Nov. 16 - Women's Basketball vs. Webster University at 6:00 PM
If you are looking to make a donation but do not have the canned goods available, cash is also accepted and each dollar collected counts as two items for the IC SAAC total.
