RICHMOND, Ind. – The Illinois College men's soccer team is getting used to overtime soccer. On Saturday, IC and Earlham College went the distance and ended in a 0-0 draw. The Blueboys move to 0-2-2 overall on the season.
The Blueboys and Quakers finished the match nearly identical in every statistical category. Earlham managed nine shots in the match to eight for Illinois College, but IC had the advantage with three shots on goal to just one for Earlham. The teams were even on corner kicks with five, as well as yellow cards with three apiece. The Quakers were whistled for slightly more fouls however, with 16 on the day to 11 for Illinois College.
Of Illinois College's eight shots in the match,
Cade Trautvetter and
Brock Ziegemeier led the Blueboys with two each.
Spencer Bloome,
Jared Haynes,
Marc Majeres and
Caleb Saldana all had one apiece.
Raul Rubalcava earned his first shutout of the season, needing to make just one save along the way.
Illinois College closes out its weekend on the road with a match at Franklin College tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. (CST).
