JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's tennis team improved to 5-6 (3-5 Midwest Conference) on Wednesday night with a 7-2 win over Knox College, setting a program record for MWC wins in a season in the process. 
The Prairie Fire only have five players available, so the Lady Blues were gifted an early edge with points at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. Wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles made it 4-0 and put IC on the cusp of victory. 
Kalisa Goertz and 
Lena Reed made quick work of Grace Kostopoulos and Laurel Stugart at No. 2, 8-1. 
Sophia Roth and 
Sally Hixson earned the win at No. 1 doubles, 8-4.
Ashley Brokaw clinched the win for Illinois College by taking down Miranda Zuckerman at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Hixson finished off her victory at No. 2 singles over Himani Patel minutes later, 6-3, 6-0. The final win of the night for the Lady Blues came from Reed at No. 3 singles over Kostopoulos, 7-5, 6-3.
Illinois College continues its home stand on Saturday with a non-conference match against St. Louis College of Pharmacy at 4 p.m.
