BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois College volleyball team ran its winning streak to six matches on Saturday with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-21) victory over a solid Dominican University (Ill.) side. The win improved the Lady Blues to 21-6, a win total not matched since the 2005 season. The Stars fall to 18-9 with the loss.
Maddie Ramsey was integral in the win for Illinois College. The junior ended with 13 kills in the match and had a .310 hitting percentage.
Ali Pankey also reached double-figures in kills with 10 in the match.
Rebecca Shields and
Brenna Dameris both added six kills, with Shields leading the Lady Blues with a .462 hitting percentage on the day.
Elizabeth Ganley had a double-double in the match for Illinois College, ending with 33 assists and 10 digs.
Brooke Brandis led the Lady Blues with 12 digs. Pankey had nine and both
Madie Budd and
Cheyanne Jockisch added eight.
At the conclusion of the weekend, both Ramsey and Ganley were named to the All-Tournament team.
The regular season wraps up for the Lady Blues on Tuesday night with a 6 p.m. home match against Webster University. Illinois College will then take on Cornell College on Friday night at 7 p.m. in a Midwest Conference Tournament semifinal in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
