JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – In the final regular-season match of the season, the Illinois College men's tennis team was defeated by Millikin University, 8-1. The Blueboys wrap up the regular season with a record of 3-12 (2-6 Midwest Conference).
The Big Blue jumped all over the Blueboys in doubles play, winning all three matches and only allowing Illinois College to claim a single game in the three matches combined.
In singles play it was much the same. Millikin won four matches in straight sets, including at No. 5 where
T.J. Lawal fell in his Senior Day matchup against Dane Pierantoni.
With the score 7-0, Illinois College got on the board with
Michael Connolly earning his third straight three-set win, this time over Logan Bennett, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7. The final match completed was at No. 1 where
Miguel Vaca fell to Jacob Palley, 7-6(8), 6-7(5), 5-10.
The Blueboys head to Madison, Wis. to conclude the season at the 2017 Midwest Conference Championships on April 29 and 30. Action begins at 8 a.m. each day and the draws for all three doubles and six singles brackets can be found at the
