JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College volleyball team downed MacMurray College in the annual Serve, Set and Rally for a Cure match between the two programs on Wednesday night. The Lady Blues were victorious in three sets (25-13, 25-20, 25-18) to defeat the Highlanders for the second time this season. With one match left to play, IC improves to 15-11, while MacMurray sinks to 5-26.
Ali Pankey led the Lady Blues with 13 kills on the night, hitting .323.
Lisa Lowry had nine kills and came up one short of a double-double after notching 10 digs in the match.
Elizabeth Ganley had a double-double with 27 assists and 12 digs. She also had a team-best hitting percentage of .500, putting down five kills on only 10 attacks. The freshman setter also had a team-high three aces.
Cheyanne Jockisch led the Lady Blues with 14 digs on the night.
Katie Tonry added eight.
Illinois College concludes the season on Oct. 28 with a trip to Fontbonne University. The Lady Blues and Griffins will play in St. Louis, Mo. starting at 7 p.m.
