By: Facing two of the top MWC teams, the Blueboys struggled to a pair of losses on Saturday.
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's tennis team lost two matches on Saturday, falling by identical 9-0 scores to Carroll University and Lake Forest College.
The Pioneers of Carroll earned a clean sweep of the Blueboys, with three 8-0 wins in doubles and 6-0, 6-0 victories in all six singles matches.
Lake Forest followed suit later in the afternoon. Only the No. 1 doubles team of
Elijah Rhoad and
Anthony Samples offered any resistance, yet they fell by a score of 8-1. The Foresters again swept the singles matches, 6-0, 6-0.
Illinois College will try to regroup this upcoming weekend with a trip to Madison, Wis. for the MWC Championships. The three-day tournament will get underway on April 24 and runs through April 26.
