By: Reduced to four players this weekend, Illinois College once again couldn’t make up its disadvantage in a loss to the Red Hawks.
RIPON, Wis. – The Illinois College men's tennis team was dealt a 9-0 setback by Ripon College on Sunday morning in the conclusion to the team's weekend trip through the Badger State. The Blueboys drop to 0-6 (0-3 Midwest Conference) with the loss to the Red Hawks.
The doubles team of
Anthony Samples and
T.J. Lawal put up a fight in the No. 1 doubles match, but ended with an 8-2 loss to Ripon's No. 1 team of Eric Seiler and Anders Goodwin.
Brandon Hollenbeck and
DeVaughn Green lost an 8-0 decision at No. 2 doubles.
In singles action, Samples was felled at No. 1 with a 6-0, 6-1 loss to Seiler. The other three singles matches for the Blueboys ended 6-0, 6-0.
Illinois College steps out of conference action on Tuesday afternoon with a road trip to play Millikin University. Action is set for 3 p.m. on March 31 in Decatur.
