By: The Lady Blues dropped a 25-22, 25-18, 25-19 decision on the road to one of the MWC leaders on Saturday afternoon.
Box Score DE PERE, Wis. – The Illinois College volleyball team lost its third straight match on Saturday, falling in three sets to St. Norbert College at the Schuldes Sports Center (25-22, 25-18, 25-19). The Lady Blues drop to 8-13 (2-6 Midwest Conference), while the Green Knights took another step towards a possible MWC Tournament berth in improving to 10-12 (6-2 MWC).
Lisa Lowry led Illinois College once again with 13 kills in the match, hitting .212 in the process. Her 13 kills represented exactly half of IC's kills for the match. No other player for the Lady Blues had more than four kills on the afternoon.
Courtney Louveau notched a double-double with 22 assists and 10 digs.
Brenna Garland was the other IC player with double-digit digs. She also had 10 in the match. Lowry and
Allison Perkins each added eight digs apiece.
For the Green Knights, Halie Ferry was the offensive leader with 16 kills and a .289 hitting percentage. Both Anika Johnson and Kristina Herman also had seven kills. Kaitlin Delahaut handed out 22 assists in the match and Aubree Antosch led all players in the match with 22 digs.
Illinois College will play its next five matches at home against non-conference opposition, starting on Oct. 21 when the Lady Blues host MacMurray College in the annual Set, Serve & Rally For a Cure match at Sherman Gymnasium. The match, which begins that night at 7 p.m., benefits the Mia Ware Foundation in Jacksonville.
