Men's tennis falls to Monmouth, 9-0

The Illinois College men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat at the hands of Monmouth College in its regular-season finale on Friday at the Bellatti Tennis Complex in Jacksonville.

Illinois College's John Hoefert, Anthony Samples, Michael Hoefert and T.J. Lawal all came up short in singles play, as did the doubles teams of John Hoefert and Samples, and Michael Hoefert and Lawal.

The Blueboys fell to 0-16. They travel to the Midwest Conference Championships, in Madison, Wisconsin, next weekend.
