The Illinois College volleyball team dropped its first two contests of the year as the Lady Blues opened the season hosting the Illinois College Invitational Friday. The Lady Blues lost to Principia College and Culver-Stockton College, each in three games.
Principia topped the Lady Blues by scores of 25-16, 25-21, 25-23.
Alese Speckhart led the Lady Blues with 12 kills, while
Lisa Lowry dished out 22 assists.
Allye Wuest tallied 11 digs.
Culver-Stockton won by scores of 25-15, 25-15, 25-13. Speckhart led the Lady Blues once again in kills, with six. Lowry recorded 13 assists and Wuest made 20 digs.
The Lady Blues fell to 0-2. They host UW-River Falls at 10 a.m. and Aurora University at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
