The Illinois College volleyball team lost to Culver-Stockton College in five sets before falling to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in three straight Saturday on the first day of play at the Illinois College Invitational.
Culver-Stockton beat IC 25-21, 25-28, 25-27, 21-25, 15-12. The Lady Blues were led by
Brittney Burgess' team-high 17 kills. Missy Norville and
Megan Moore chipped in 10 and 11 kills, respectively.
Maurissa Moulton had 34 assists.
Kayla Birdsell and Burgess had 22 digs each.
Rose-Hulman won 25-14, 25-19, 25-15. IC was led by Burgess and Norville, who tallied five and six kills. Moulton had 14 assists. Birdsell had 15 digs.
IC is now 0-2. The Lady Blues take on Lakeland College at 10 a.m. and MacMurray College at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
