Chris Skinner

Chris joins the Illinois College Women’s Flag Football program to coach the centers for its inaugural 2026 season. This will begin his 38 th season coaching football at the high school level and 1 st at the collegiate level. A 1988 graduate of Illinois College, where he lettered in 4 years of IC Football, 2 years of Tennis and 2 years of Golf helping the Blueboys to the Conference Championship in 1987.

Coach Skinner spent 34 years teaching and coaching at Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville from 1988 until retirement in 2022. In the fall of 2022, he reunited with IC teammates Head Coach Mark Grounds and Assistant Mike Sullivan to coach the Offensive Line at Jacksonville High School. During that time, he has helped develop several All-Conference CS8 Lineman.

Skinner has spent his career developing strong, explosive offensive lines that focus on controlling to line of scrimmage.

Chris and his wife, Kerry continue to live in Jerseyville and have 6 grown daughters, Jen, Allison, Aimee, Leah, Lauren and Sammie and their 6 grandsons, Jaxson, Lincoln, Reid, Kolsen, Declan and Scout. Coach Skinner is excited to return to the Hilltop to help out the Women’s Flag Football team continue the IC winning ways.
