Brita Hand will begin her first season as an assistant coach with the women's basketball team in 2018-19.

Hand played three seasons of basketball at Ashford before career-ending injuries started her on a path towards coaching. She served as a student-assistant during her senior season before graduating in 2015 with a degree in Psychology while minoring in Physical Education with a Coaching Endorsement.

She was hired by Truman State as a graduate assistant prior to the 2015-16 season and spent two years on staff with the Bulldogs while earning her Master's degree in Leadership with a Coaching emphasis in May of 2017. She remained on staff this past season and helped the Bulldogs achieve yet another winning record. Truman State ended with 50 wins in her three seasons on the sidelines in the tough Great Lakes Valley Conference (GVLC) of NCAA Division II.
