Malik Wildermuth begins his second season with the men's basketball program in 2019-20.
A Normal, Ill. native, Wildermuth finished his playing career at Central College with a stellar senior season, averaging 15.4 points per game, good for second on the team. He led the Dutch in four other statistical categories, including rebounds (4.9 per game) and assists (3.1 per game). His efforts led to a second team all-conference selection in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Â
"We are very excited about Malik joining the staff here at Illinois College," said Head Men's Basketball Coach Steve Schweer. "I have known Malik and his family for a long time now, so he is a natural fit on our staff. He just finished an excellent collegiate playing career at Central College, so he is very familiar with what it takes to compete at a high level as a Division III student-athlete. He will connect well with our current players and he will also be a tremendous asset for us in recruiting. Malik has a bright future ahead of him as a coach and I know he is very eager to get to work with our guys."
