J.R. Dugan begins his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Illinois College men’s basketball team in 2017-18.

A 1992 graduate of Illinois College, Dugan was a four-year member of the IC men’s basketball program and ended his career with 1,037 points. He also starred as a track & field athlete, winning a national title in the high jump as a freshman in 1989. Dugan was inducted into the Illinois College Hall of Fame in 1999.

A teacher at Jacksonville High School, Dugan resides in Jacksonville with his wife, Jennifer – herself an IC Hall of Famer – and their three children.
