Coleman Reed begins his third season as the assistant coach for men's basketball in 2020-21. Head Coach Steve Schweer and Reed have worked together in the past, as Reed was a student-assistant at Monmouth College while Schweer was an assistant with the Fighting Scots.

A 2015 graduate of Monmouth, Reed was named the college's Senior Man of the Year in the spring semester of his graduation year. He was then hired by Monmouth as the Assistant to the Director of Athletics beginning in the fall of 2015. A year later, he returned to the hardwood as an assistant coach with the Monmouth women's basketball program. He was on the sidelines for two seasons as Monmouth made a leap in the MWC standings. As an undergrad, Reed was on the bench with the Scots for four years. In his senior season, the Scots compiled a 16-8 record and made the MWC Tournament for the first time in 16 seasons.

Reed and his wife, Clarissa, reside in Jacksonville.
