Lee Tenenoff enters his third season on the Illinois College Football staff in 2020 and will begin his second season as the Defensive Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator and Linebackers Coach for the Blueboys. During his time at Illinois College, Tenenoff has mentored 8 All-Midwest Conference performers. Â
The 2019 season saw an improvement in almost every statistical category on the defense. The Blueboy Defense led the Midwest conference in Pass Defense, both in defensive pass efficiency and yardage per game, holding opposing quarterbacks to a mere 123.2 yards per contest which was ranked 3rd in the nation. The Illinois College Defense also ranked in the top 3 in the conference in total defense, interceptions, and takeaways in 2019. The 2019 Blueboy Defense saw 3 players named All Midwest Conference.Â
In his first season on the staff, Tenenoff was the Co-Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach, producing two All-MWC performers on the defensive line and a total of five All-MWC selections from the defense. The Blueboys ranked third in the MWC against the rush and were third in takeaways.
Tenenoff came to IC after a two-year stint at Wisconsin Lutheran College coaching the Defensive Line. During his time at WLC, Tenenoff coached five All-Conference selections including a Conference Defensive Player of the Year. As the Defensive Line Coach at WLC, the defense set a program record for sacks with 35 during the 2016 season, 33 of which came from Defensive Linemen.
Prior to WLC, Tenenoff spent one season at Division II Southwest Minnesota State University functioning as Running Backs Coach, Assistant Recruiting Coordinator, and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. At SMSU, Tenenoff mentored the Conference's leading rusher who was also a 2nd team All-Conference selection. During the 2015 season, SMSU experienced the best season in program history going 8-3.
Tenenoff received a degree in Biokinetics from Bethel University in 2015, and earned his Masters degree in Leadership and Innovation from Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Lee and his wife, Savaya, reside in Jacksonville with their daughter Lila and son Ricky.
