James Dambacher, a 2015 Illinois College graduate, begins his first season as a member of the football staff for the 2017 season. Dambacher was the 2014 Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

As a four-year member of the IC football team after graduating from Auburn High School in Auburn, Ill., Dambacher was a force for the Blueboys. During his career, he earned awards such as First Team All-MWC, USA Football All-American, All-West Region 2nd Team by d3football.com, D3 Team of the Week on two occasions by d3football.com, and was an IC team captain.

After graduating with a degree in the Business of Sports Management, Dambacher joined the United States Marine Corps. He was promoted twice, ending as Lance Corporal, before receiving a medical discharge.

As a member of the coaching staff, Dambacher will coach the Illinois College linebackers.
