Jack Russell begins his first season on the Illinois College coaching staff in 2022.
Russell comes from Missouri Baptist University where he played linebacker for three years and spent the last two years as a graduate assistant coaching linebackers. During his time as a graduate assistant, he mentored many athletes including Blake Kight who received All-Conference honors, and Jaylen Cowley who received two-time All-Conference and two-time All-American.
He was also the strength and conditioning coordinator where he was responsible for planning off-season and in-season workout schedules, tracking athletes’ progress, and helping those student-athletes pursue their goals and maximize their potential.
Russell was selected to coach linebackers in the NAIA Senior Football Classic in Durham, N.C. in December of 2021 at Durham County Memorial Stadium. He coached on the East team who earned the victory in the contest 21-7.
Russell graduated from Missouri Baptist University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration. He is currently in pursuit of a master’s degree in Business Administration and is scheduled to graduate in 2023.
