Jay Eckhouse

Jay Eckhouse enters his 17th year as head baseball coach at Illinois College in 2018. During the 2015 season, Eckhouse picked up his 200th career coaching victory.

Eckhouse, a native of Alton, is a 1978 graduate of Illinois College, where he was a standout student-athlete competing for the school’s baseball and football teams. Eckhouse was a three-year starter at first base for the Blueboys and a record-setting quarterback for the football team. He was inducted into the Illinois College Sports Hall of Fame in 1988. Since joining the athletic staff, Eckhouse has led four of his baseball teams to the Midwest Conference Tournament and was named the MWC Coach of the Year in 2004.

Eckhouse and his wife, Gina, reside in Jacksonville. They have two sons: Noah ’08 and Nathan.
