DECATUR, Ill.  – Millikin used the doubles point to sneak past the Illinois College women's tennis team, 4-3, on Wednesday at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex.

The match was the season opener for IC, while Millikin moved to 2-1.

The Big Blue opened the contest by winning two of the three doubles matches. IC's victory came from the duo of Campbell Hayes and Sophie Muir at No. 2, who posted a 6-2 win.

Millikin's doubles point would prove to be vital as the teams split the six singles matches.

The Lady Blues got victories from Clara Bach (6-3, 6-2) at No. 2, Hayes (6-2, 6-4) at No. 3, and Muir at No. 4 (6-2, 6-1).
