First Half Flurry Helps Blueboys Bury Greenville

GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's soccer team erupted for five goals in the first half and rolled to a 6-0 victory over Greenville on Monday at the S.W. Andrews Fields.

The win catapults IC to 3-2-1 while Greenville drops to 0-5-0.

The Blueboys jumped out to a quick lead thanks to Jives Efemini's goal 2:38 into the contest. IC's Oscar Liogon Arenas found the net nearly five minutes later when he scored off an assist from J'Aiden Cranwell-Meneses at the 7:11 mark. 

Carter Uhlmann tacked on a third IC goal at the 15:29 mark before Liogon Arenas tallied for the second time on the night at 29:21. Nate Kapitz closed out the first-half scoring flurry at the 32:55 mark.

IC added to the total late in the contest when Brenden Eschmann scored on a penalty shot at 89:48.

Liogon Arenas led the IC offense with four shots as the Blueboys out-shot the Panthers 18-13. Elijah Bunda chipped in with three shots as well.

The Blueboys' TJ Esseily recorded a clean sheet for the 86 minutes he was in goal while collecting seven saves on the night. Cooper Ryan Deitch finished the remainder of the contest in net.

The Blueboys return home and open the 2026 Midwest Conference season by hosting Lawrence inside England Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
