Figo Cheuk Named Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Illinois College has named Figo Cheuk as its new Assistant Men's Soccer Coach, it was announced today by Blueboys Head Coach Evan Philpott.

"We are thrilled to welcome Figo Cheuk as a member of the program. The IC soccer family continues to grow stronger, and the addition of Coach Cheuk marks another step forward for our program," Philpott said.

"Coach Cheuk brings a wealth of collegiate experience, having competed at the highest levels in the United States," Philpott added. "His international background will also provide a valuable perspective that will positively impact our players and the program as a whole. From the moment he met the team, Coach Cheuk made an immediate connection, and we are excited about the leadership, energy, and knowledge he will bring to our group."

Cheuk brings an extensive playing career on the pitch to IC. He began his collegiate career at Feather River College in Quincy, California, then played at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, in 2024, and finished his career at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, last season. Alongside his playing career, Cheuk is also a licensed referee with the United States Soccer Federation.

A native of Ireland, Cheuk has also worked in sales in his native country, away from the pitch.

A Dean's List student throughout his collegiate career, Cheuk, will graduate from William Carey with a bachelor's degree later this year.
