JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The IC esports team earned a 4-0 NECC Rocket League victory over Beloit College on Wednesday night to secure the No. 2 seed in its group and advance to the playoffs.
Due to technical issues on Beloit's end that delayed the start of the match, IC began the series with a 3-0 lead. When play finally began, IC closed out the series with a 2-1 win in the only game played.
Lucas Barry and Dwight Duijneveld each scored a goal for IC, while Loegon Pete recorded two saves defensively.
IC will face the No. 3 seed from Central B in next week's NECC playoff matchup.
Earlier in the evening, IC fell 3–0 to Gustavus Adolphus in MVEC Overwatch play to close the conference season. Gustavus won on Nepal (2–0), King's Row (4–3), and Dorado (1–0). Dwight Duijneveld led IC with 40 eliminations while Fray Moulton added 36.
