JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - IC closed out its NECC Valorant season Monday night with a hard-fought 0-2 loss to Bowling Green State University in a series that was decided by just a few rounds on each map.
Game 1 – Bowling Green 14 IC 12 (Bind)
IC battled closely with Bowling Green on its map pick of Bind. The teams traded rounds throughout the map, with IC remaining within striking distance late before Bowling Green narrowly secured the 14-12 win.
Game 2 – Bowling Green 13 IC 11 (Pearl)
The second map followed a similar pattern as IC once again kept the match tight throughout Pearl. IC made a late push but Bowling Green held on to close out the map 13-11 and secure the series.
Fray Moulton led IC with 49 kills while posting a 1.87 KDA and 330 ACS. Thomas Peña also had a strong showing with 45 kills, 12 assists, and a team-high 353 ACS while recording 12 first bloods. Dwight Duijneveld added 36 kills and 11 assists, while Ekko Nguyen contributed 20 assists and helped facilitate executes with four spike plants. Carter Naeve finished the series with 10 spike plants and eight assists.
The series marks the conclusion of IC's NECC Valorant season.
