JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Illinois College Esports put together a strong two-day run, picking up three team wins across MVEC and NECC play in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Valorant.
IC opened the week with a 2–0 MVEC sweep of St. Ambrose before earning a 2–0 NECC Valorant win over Widener and closing things out with a 2–1 rivalry victory against Rockford in NECC SSBU action.
SSBU - IC def. St. Ambrose (MVEC) 2–0
Game 1: 7-1 | Game 2: 4-3
IC controlled the opener, winning 7–1 behind strong performances from Julian Luaders and Jake Petrovich, who both earned 3–0 wins in Game 1.
Game 2 tested the Blueboys early as St. Ambrose jumped out to a 3–0 lead, but IC answered back. Petrovich and Luaders each secured 3–1 wins to complete the 4–3 comeback and finish the sweep.

IC delivered one of its most complete Valorant performances of the season. Thomas Peña played aggressively all night, finishing with eight first kills and just three first deaths to consistently create openings.
Fray Moulton and Dwight Duijneveld led the way statistically, while the Game 1/Game 2 rotation of Carter Naeve and Jordan Leonardo continued to give the team balance and energy on each map.

The Blueboys added another chapter to a growing rivalry with Rockford. After splitting the first two games, it came down to a decisive Game 3.
Jake Petrovich delivered when it mattered most, taking five stocks across key matchups to clinch the series. In the final showdown, he won a 3-stocks-to-3-stocks matchup between each team's top player to seal the win.
