This was a difficult series, with Albany showing greater consistency across all four starters. Julian Luaders faced large deficits in the anchor role and delivered an impressive comeback in Game 2, taking eight stocks while losing only one. The deficits in Games 1 and 3 proved too much to overcome.
Despite the loss, Julian improved his career ratio of stocks taken to stocks lost and continues to close in on the program record. A few more strong performances could put him in the top spot by the end of the season.
We have faced undefeated teams in consecutive weeks and knew both would be difficult matchups. This series was much more competitive than last week, with Games 2 and 3 coming down to the final fight. Despite the result, that is an encouraging sign of improvement.
