JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's tennis squad posted its first Midwest Conference victory of the season, beating Monmouth 5-2 on Wednesday at the Bellatti Tennis Center.
The Lady Blues are now 7-5 overall and 1-1 in conference action. Monmouth falls to 0-7 and 0-2.

The Lady Blues opened the match by taking the doubles point thanks to victories from
Sophie Muir and
Lily Ingram at No. 2 and
Sophi Barrow and
Sabrina Ingram at No. 3, who won in a tie-breaker to clinch the team point.
IC took four of the six singles matches to secure the victory. The Lady Blues got straight-set wins from
Clara Bach (No. 2), Muir (No. 3),
Lily Ingram (No. 4), and
Morgan Keefe (No. 5). IC's two losses in singles play were both went to tie-breakers.

IC will host Concordia of Chicago on Saturday at the Bellatti Tennis Complex for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference match-up.
