JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Esports team dropped a hard-fought NECC Valorant match against Morningside, falling 1–2 in a best-of-three series.
Map 1 (Ascent – IC pick): The Blueboys started strong, grinding out a 13–11 win behind disciplined site holds and clutch late rounds.
Map 2 (Lotus – Morningside pick): Momentum shifted as Morningside controlled pace and spacing, pulling away for a 13–6 victory to even the series.
Map 3 (Haven – decider): Illinois College battled but couldn't match Morningside's mid-round executions, ultimately dropping the final map 13–8.
Because Morningside is both an NECC and MVEC opponent, the result carries extra weight in the standings. While Fray Moulton and Dwight Duijneveld turned in solid outings, the Blueboys couldn't find enough consistency across the series to close it out.
